This crater lagoon is a beautiful natural attraction barely explored by tourists. It is locally known as ‘’Laguna del tigre‘’ In English, this translates to Tiger Lagoon. Others call it Asososca Junior, because it’s smaller than the one with the same name near Managua City.

This tour is perfect for those who want to relax surrounded by nature or those with limited of time or fitness. After a 45 minutes car ride you will start a comfortable hike following a shady trail, most of it on flat terrain. Alternatively you can reach the rim of the cráter by car reducing the hiking time to only 20 minutes each way.

Without a doubt; having a great view of two volcanoes in the distance while floating in the cool waters of the lagoon is a pure bliss. Before returning to Leon city you will be transfer to the shores of lake Managua for a close look at of the impressive and famous Momotombo volcano.
