If you are an adventurous person that is looking for something different then volcano boarding at cerro negro is a great opportunity.This is an extreme activity on an active volcano that can be done by using rustic design ski boards, kind of like snowboarding except that we do it on fine volcanic rocks.

First we need to hike up to the summit of the volcano at 726 meters (Every partisipant must carry their board and safety gear). The hike begins from the base of the volcano at 300 meters above sea level. With stops along the way the hike to the top is roughly about 1 hour depending on the pace of the group.

Once on top and after putting your protection gears on, your guide will conduct a briefing on how to handle the board safetly. Coming down is surely a whole diferent experience, it is much easier and fun as it takes 5 minutes or less to get to the bottom, it just depends on your determination and technique.

For your maximum enjoyment, we recommend starting as early as possible, in order to avoid the intense heat common after 10 in the morning. This trip takes maximum 4.5 hours and can be carried out in the morning or afternoon.
